Every year, approximately 17.9 million deaths are reported globally due to cardiovascular diseases, with India accounting for a quarter of these fatalities. The majority of cardiac incidents occur outside of the hospital environment, with 70% transpiring at home and 16% in public settings. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) serves as a crucial link in the survival chain for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA). Unfortunately, the bystander CPR rate is reported to be only 1.7%-9.8%, falling significantly short of the 62% target set by the American Heart Association’s Emergency Cardiovascular Care guidelines.
